Friends of the Library
ABOUT THE FRIENDS
What We Do
In short, we support the Library. Through member fees and donations, used book sales and special events, the Friends organization raises funds to enrich the Library's collections, infrastructure, and activities.
If you too would like to support the Gilford Public Library, then join the Friends. By becoming a member, you'll join over 250 current individual and family members who share your love of the Library. Just click here to view and print a membership form, complete it and either drop it off or mail it to the Library.

Current Projects
The Friends of the Gilford Public Library received a large donation in 2006 to build a new library for the town of Gilford. This donation enabled construction of the new Library to begin in August. While the generous donation completely covered the construction costs of the new Library, funds are still needed for furniture and equipment. To raise these additional funds, the Friends has initiated a fundraising campaign, "Around the Corner...The Story Continues".
If you are interested in supporting the new library project, CLICK HERE for PDF Format Pledge Form and naming opportunities, and/or contact Kate Hamel at bulabula@metrocast.net for more information.
Below is a picture of the new building construction taken on January 9, 2008. As you can see, the cold weather and snow this December did not slow down the progress too much, and the crew hit the ground running in the new year. They are doing a great job!

Merchandise
The Friends welcomes you to shop at www.cafepress.com/gilfordlibrary for unique gifts and accessories! All of the profits generated will be sent directly to the Friends of the Gilford Public Library to support the fundraising efforts for the new Library.
Book Sales
We accept donations of hardcover and paperback books, books on tape, videos and DVDs. All items should be in good, saleable condition. Please call before dropping off large quantities of books since space is sometimes an issue.
Book sales are held throughout the year at the Library. Old Home Day is our largest event and our seasonal Open Houses are also highly attended. In addition, we have a relationship with Amazon and Abe Books for the higher value books, generating additional revenue for the Friends.
Our Mission
The Friends of the Gilford Public Library is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the promotion of the Library, focusing on community awareness and fundraising efforts for the programs, services and special needs of the Gilford Public Library.
