Museum Passes


Thanks to a very generous sponsorship by Friends of the Gilford Public Library, the library has once again been able to purchase a number of free (or discounted) passes to area museums, art galleries and other attractions. They are available on a first come/first serve basis, and some require a deposit.

Strawbery Banke Museum -

Step over the threshold of history to life in New Hampshire's oldest seacoast neighborhood. Experience life from the late 1600's to the 1950's in this neighborhood known as Puddle Dock. The site, known today as Strawbery Banke Museum, offers a glimpse into the everyday lives of everyday people who called this area home for nearly four centuries.
Year round eduction programs for children, students and adults are offered. Stawbery Banks Museum has an outstanding Museum Shop and informantion center, as well as an on-site cafe and outdoor picnic tables.

The pass is good for free daily admission for two adults and up to four children and free admission to special events, including Candlelight Stroll.


Squam Lakes Natural Science Center -

EXPLORE NATURE! If you're wild about New Hampshire wildlife, the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is the place to visit! From bears to bobcats, owls to otters, this natural science center provides everyone with an opportunity to see wildlife close up and learn about their habitats.

Library passes are valid for 2 $3 trail admissions plus up to four  additional discounted trail admission for $10 each, every day from May 1 to November 1. Please note that Library Membership passes are not appropriate for use by schools or other organized groups.

NH State Parks -

New Hampshire has 93 state park properties that provide a variety of recreational opportunities for all ages and abilities. The park system includes beaches, campgrounds, historic sites, waysides, natural areas, a multitude of trails, and much more to explore.

New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation opens the door for year-round activity. Trek or ride along winding trails where fresh air and solitude are your companions. Glide along our lakes, ponds and rivers in a canoe or kayak. Swim in the clear, cool water at one of our sandy beaches. Camp under the stars, or picnic beneath a canopy of shady trees. Take a journey through time exploring our historic sites. Snowshoe, snowmobile, Nordic or alpine ski on miles of maintained trails. Enjoy the beauty and recreational opportunities of New Hampshire state park properties. Join us as stewards of these natural wonders and help us to preserve them for future generations. 

One pass per day, $10 deposit, day-use only, pass valid for free admission for 2 adults and up to 4 dependents.


McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center -

The Discovery Center has an amazing collection of innovative, interactive exhibits to explore. Delve in to the worlds of astronomy, aviation, Earth and space sciences and become immersed in this entertaining learning environment.

Passes give free admission to exhibit galleries for up to four people. Planetarium shows are $5 per person with pass.


Canterbury Shaker Village -

Take a step back in time and experience 200 years of the Shaker way of life. Visit our National Historic Landmark with 25 original buildings situated on a rolling hilltop surrounded by open fields, woodlots, and ponds. Take a guided tour, watch crafts being made, enjoy gardens, ponds, remains of old mills. Restaurant on site, and a museum store offering Shaker reproduction furniture, an extensive collection of Shaker books and tapes and NH handcrafts.

Pass is good for free general admission for any combination of two adults or children to the museum and exhibits. Additional family members are admitted for half price, $9.50 for adults and $4.50 for children. Each pass is valid for one specific day. Cannot be combined with any other discount offers. Not valid for members-only events, discounts, or special events.



Currier Gallery of Art -

The Currier Gallery of Art is an internationally renowned art museum featuring European and American paintings, decorative arts and sculptures...all in a classic setting. The Zimmerman House, included in the Currier's permanent collection, allows you to experience Frank Lloyd Wright in New Hampshire. Built for Isadore and Lucille Zimmerman in 1950, the Zimmerman House is the only Frank Lloyd Wright designed residence in New England open to the public. For those wishing to explore their artistic sides, the Currier Art Center offers studio art classes and workshops for children and adults.

Passes provide free general admission for up to 2 adults (18 years and older): children 17 years and younger are always free.



Libby Museum

The Libby Museum was established in 1912 and is on the registry of national historic places. It is a museum of natural history featuring an Abenaki Native American collection and a Governor Wentworth collection.

Free admission to all with pass. $10 deposit required.



Wright Museum -

Travel back in time to 1939 - 1945 America! The Wright Museum showcases the enterprising spirit of America as everyone ralled to the call to arms during World War II. This historically accurate collection of memorabilia, vehicles, films, and artifacts demonstrates the efforts that the American people brought to this crisis. Situated on a six-acre site on the Smith River in Wolfeboro NH, the museum provides ample parking for cars and buses.

Pass allows two adults and four children free admission.



The Castle in the Clouds -

Visit the Castle and you'll:
Tour the 1914 Arts and Crafts style mansion; take in the spectacular view of Lake Winnipesaukee; stroll through magnificent gardens; walk or hike the 28 miles of trails and view the striking waterfalls; enjoy lunch on the patio or in the picnic grove and more!

Pass allows free admission for two adults and two children (but is not valid for special events).

Mount Washington Cruise - 

The Motor Ship Mount Washington is a 230 foot steel superstructure, on 4 levels with 3 dance floors and a capacity of 1100 passengers. Enjoy Lake Winnipesaukee's 44,000 acresof sparkling clean water, and fantastic countain ranges by journeying on a day cruise with the Mt. Washington. 

Pass is good for a 2 for 1 day cruise admission. Only valid for daytime cruises in 2018 season. 

Children's Museum of New Hampshire -

The Children's Museum of New Hampshire, located in downtown Dover, has two floors of custom-made interactive exhibits for all ages, performances, workshops, classes, and special events all year-round!

We have a 4-person discount pass, that allows for a discount on general admission during regular museum hours; Tuesday through Sunuday, 10am - 5pm, Sunday from 12 - 5pm. During the summer, the museum is open 7 days a week.


See Science Center  -

The SEE Science Center, open 7 days a week in Manchester, is an interactive learning center established to promote the understanding, enjoyment and achievements of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, with two floors of hands-on fun and activites.


One pass is available per day, for free admission for the immediate family. Museum is open Monday - Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday and Sunday, 10am - 5pm. $10 deposit required.



Remick Museum and Farm -

Learn about sustainable agriculture, forgotten arts, foodwats and the life of a country doctor at this 200+ year old homestead in Tamworth, NH. 

Free daily admission for 2 adults and their children (17 and under). 


Seacoast Science Center -

Come learn about the ocean and the coastal landscape at this non-profit marine science education 

organization located in Rye, NH, on the New Hampshire Coast.
50% discounted admission for 2 adults and up to 4 children in their household.
