Passport Services

The Gilford Public Library now accepts passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. U.S. Citizens planning international travel may apply for their passports at the library. The library does not process or mail DS-82 (renewal) forms. Even though you must mail the renewal yourself, we are always happy to answer any questions. 


Please call the Library to make an appointment. 

Appointment slots are for 1 hour at a time, although most applications will be around 20-50 minutes.

When applying for a passport, please bring the following items with you (Apply in Person Requirements):

  • Applicable Forms, unsigned. Check here to see what form you should use.
  • Evidence of U.S. Citizenship AND a photocopy. Photocopier services are available at the library for .10 cents.
  • Form of Valid Identification Document(ID) AND a photocopy
  • Paperwork for Special Circumstances - Child under 16; Child 16-17; Lost Passport; etc. 
  • An acceptable photo (Requirements)

Passport Aplication Fees

Please be aware that application fees are accepted only in the form of checks or money orders payable to the U.S. Department of State. 

Execution Fees are $35, and can be paid by cash, credit card, check or money order, made out to Gilford Public Library.

Passport Photos

The Library does not currently offer photo services. Nearby  locations that offer passport photo services are CVS and Walgreens
